Visual Narrative Project-Kolesa

                                                          Visual Narrative Project-Kolesa

In this piece you can see the main character Unitato, a unicorn potato, going around the world spreading love and cheer to everyone in the "whole world" He can be seen on top of the earth with many hearts coming out from him. This is to visualize him giving love and cheer to others. The earth is both a dark green and blue. The colors for the font are very bright and bold. Unitato is the color of a potato and his horn is silver. The hearts coming out from him are a variety of the same colors of the font.

Unitato is a friendly character who is although not the smartest, he for sure is the kindest. He wants to make everyone feel loved and happy. He enjoys making people feel good so that is exactly what he is doing in this project.

This project has balance because the words are on the side of the earth. I didn't want the top or the bottom of the page to seem to busy so I decided to put the words for the project along the side the main focus of the page. Another principle of design that is present in this project is emphasis. There is emphasis on the earth as well as Unitato. I wanted the first the viewer of the piece to see was Unitato, going around spreading cheer to the people of the world. This project has a triangle composition; the viewer first looks at the earth and then to the left of the earth to read and then the right. Since it is common for people to read from left to right, the viewer will first read the column on the left and then the right.

In this project my strengths was definitely the typography. The words are pretty evenly spaced out and relatively all the same size. I am very proud with how this font looks compared to the project as a whole. My growths in this project would have to be the use of water color. The earth is painted using water colors and at first I was really struggling with doing this. I was having a hard time keeping my lines straight, but overall I don't think that this part of the project is that bad.

Below are the reference photos and the rough drafting photos that I used for this project
